LOTR Community Challenges

The August Challenge stories, with the theme of "Out on a limb", has now been posted. Each author was assigned a type of tree as an element.

We have six stories so far.

Yew by Pearl Took Pippin finds something while he's in the family burial grounds.
A Tree Grows in the Pass - by Larner Serving for the first time with the Rangers of Ithilien, Eldarion and Elboron hear of the gifts given Frodo and Sam when they had visited in the refuge of Henneth Annun, and hope for the chance to retrieve such relics.
"Living Jewels" by Shirebound The Ring-bearers are welcomed into the West, as is what they bring with them.
Nurtured in the North by nancylea57 A Gondorian recovers under his new king's care, what a learning curve!
The Silver Tree by Linda Hoyland Faramir and the new King take an unexpected walk

O rowan fair, upon your hair how white the blossom lay!
O rowan mine, I saw you shine upon a summer's day,
Your rind so bright, your leaves so light, your voice so cool and soft:
Upon your head how golden-red the crown you bore aloft!
O rowan dead, upon your head your hair is dry and grey;
Your crown is spilled, your voice is stilled for ever and a day.
