My friend Julia said she planned to nominate my story "Wars and Rumours of Wars" in the "Men" category. I think a ficlet she also wanted to nominate for "Vignette" "More than Meets the Eye" is listed under "Men" by mistake.

The list she sent me had "Wars and Rumors of Wars" in the Drama category, so I'd rather not change that part now.

I fixed "More Than Meets the Eye"! I had somehow posted it without the title in the vignette category, and had also posted it at the other category as well. I think I have that fixed now.

Sorry for causing a misunderstanding - language fail on my part; I meant "should I just leave it alone and not nominate the story".

I have checked carefully each time before I left a nomination, but one point is unclear: is it a duplicate when a story has already been nominated in a difference category, or for example for a different character? If yes, then I'll have to go over my nominations again.

I'm happy I can participate even as a newbie, though I sadly haven't read very much in the archive yet. But I found a couple of stories I had already read elsewhere.

Yes, and I know... I have gone through this myself. Feeling like a bouncy puppy to nominate a story I love... and then later on in a different category to see it nominated already. :) Just edit the comments (and a tip, keep your list of noms in a text file, with some extra stories you love as a back up!).

Yes, it is. A story may only compete in one category, so the person with the earliest nomination gets to make the nomination.

That's great! Many of our authors post at multiple sites, such as Stories of Arda, Henneth Annun, or The Silmarillion Writers Guild, as well as on their own LiveJournals and at various communities.

Duplicate: Nor to the Northlands by Nath (apparently first nominated by Linda for Characterization of Halbarad)
There is also a paste-and-copy glitch that makes it look as if Larner nominated her story "The Sacrifice Accepted" herself, but actually I did.

Foray - Marta nominated this in Favorite Story featuring Men; but it had already been nominated in Favorite Characterization of Boromir.

This Distant Shore - Marta nominated it in Favorite Story set in The Silmarillion; it had already been nominated in Favorite Story featuring a Numenorean.

The Falcon and the Star - Marta nominated it in Favorite Drama, but it was already nominated in Favorite Story set in LOTR.
