LOTR Community Challenges

Here are the links to the July 2012 Lazy Summer Fixed-Length-Ficlet Challenge stories! For this challenge each author chose a number between 101 and 400 to be the exact word count for the story. The theme was "lazy summer", inspired by this quotation:(from Sam Keen): "Deep summer is when laziness finds respectability."

We have seven stories so far! And we anticipate a few late stories for this challenge as well.

A Catch Along the Brandywine by LarnerAt least one individual made a big catch along the Brandywine that lazy summer day!
As Unkind as Summer by Paranoidangel Elrond teaches Estel a lesson about hot summer days.
Week Without Thranduil 2/? by Sivan Shimesh Summary and Warning could be found in 1st chapter.

The July Challenge is our annual Fixed-Length-Ficlet Challenge, and will have the theme "Lazy Summer", and is based on this quote: quote (from Sam Keen): "Deep summer is when laziness finds respectability." The element will be a number between 101 and 400. Interested authors can reply to this announcement and claim a number. No one will be allowed to have a number previously claimed. Whatever number is chosen will be the word count for your ficlet-- if you choose 237 your story must have exactly 237 words!

The July challenge stories will be due Saturday, July 14th and will be revealed on Monday, July 16th. Please tag your story "lazy summer" and " '12 July". Please remember to use the header template on the community profile page, and to put the name of your story and your name in the subject line (e.g. "Frodo's Amazing Adventure by Mary Sue").
