Stone
I sat in the high white tower, the unglazed windows letting the cold air in off the mountain.
Cold air. Cold stone.
I have shown what was asked of me with icy indifference to generations of Men. I have brought them hope, despair, and burning anger. It was all the same to me.
I remained cold.
Until I was removed from my high station by one of the Men who had long sought out my images; carried in stealth from the high tower, he hid my presence from his entourage as they solemnly processed from the Citadel.
Now, I hold forever the intense heat from the demise of Denethor, Son of Ecthelion, Steward of Gondor.
