September Challenge: Hit the Books

The September Challenge will have the theme "Hit the Books"; the theme is "reading", and the prompt will be the title of a well-known book, which authors will also use as the title of their own story.

The stories will be due in the queue on Wednesday, September 14th, and will be revealed on Friday September 16th. Please tag your story "hit the books". Please remember to use the header template on the community profile page, and to put the name of your story and your name in the subject line.

No, I am not used to doing things on an empty stomach--and water is good, but it's no substitute for food! I guess I'm truly a hobbit at heart.
