I've never written them before, you know. I've written Maglor, a few times, yes, and have a strong picture of him, but those fics are set long after this and Maedhros I've not written at all, just thought about. I had to feel my way into what might have been the brothers' dynamic at this late stage when everything had turned to ash and I kept thinking it was a massive liberty to just dive in but this really wanted to be written so I followed where the prompt led (I've been doing a lot of that lately, lol)

I posted this at the last minute and when that happens I often look afterwards and wonder a bit at lines that worked better (or worse) than I remember - that last bit you excerpted did work, I was afraid it wouldn't. I am terrible at last lines usually. That made me smile - thank you :)

Elrond and Elros - I thought of doing a small scene with them, because it would be interesting to explore how they might feel about being handed over to virtual strangers, but the balance would have been off and I'd have had to rush it so I dropped the idea, but I'm still very curious about that. This kind of joins up with a story set on Balar that I wrote a while ago, but by then the twins had been there six months and were adjusting (and they weren't main characters). So - maybe one day.

I'm rambling here, sorry *g*. Just - thank you so much for a wonderful review that reassured me about a story I really wanted to get right. I'm delighted it gave you pleasure, and thank you for sharing your thoughts here. *hugs*
