Due to the holiday and the start of school we are extending the deadline for our "Young and Old" challenge stories by one week. Our stories will now be due in on Saturday, Sept 13th for the Monday posting, Sept 15th. Hope this helps everyone who has been slowed down by RL! Remember, although we'd like to get as many stories as we can posted on the due dates, your late stories are still welcome any time, from any challenge.

We will then get back to the normal schedule. Dreamflower and I will have more for you on that after we get together. The theme for October is probably an obvious choice, so for those of you who want to get a head start, we will be hosting a "Halloween/Harvest Time" theme. We'll have the dates and particulars posted here soon.

Also, it's not too early to start thinking about Yule! We don't have all the details together just yet, but we will have both a regular Yule Challenge *and* a Yule Fic Exchange. The Fic Exchange will be hosted on the group just like last year, but we'll also be posting all those stories on our challenge site. The December Yule Challenge will be hosted like all the regular monthly stories. In addition! This year we intend to have the Fic Exchange stories due in earlier in order to allow for "pinch hitters" to help us out in the case that anyone cannot finish the story in time. We know that stuff happens in RL that is beyond our control. Due to the nature of the challenge, we want to make sure everyone who writes for it will get a story in return. If you'd like to think about volunteering as a pinch hit writer we will have the detail asap for you. A Fic Exchange takes a good deal of planning and coordination, and that's why we have to get going on it so early.

Let us know if there are any questions about any of this stuff!

Thanks everyone,
Cathleen
