Lasses

“Sugar and spice and all things nice, that’s what all lasses are made of.”

“Bite your tongue, Vinca!” Pippin chided. “There’s no sugar in you and the spice is pepper.”

“Pippin!”

“’Tis true and you know it, Pervinca Took.” He held up his hand. “And I know, the rest of the rhyme fits me. ‘Snips and snails and puppy dog tails, that’s what lads are made of’”

“Pervinca Boffin, if you please.”

Pippin looked at the babe in her arms, his new niece, Daisy, and smiled. “I’ll grant you, you have added a new bit of sugar to the mix.”

Have fun at the Wars! And oh yes, GW's Pippin's speech was a howl.

I do like that icon. I'm trying to figure out exactly what sort of hat it is though.

It's a fifteenth century style of hat sometimes called an "escoffion". It was loads of fun to make, but it's not especially comfortable to wear, as it has a rather heavy wire support. But it looks good with my houppelande (a fifteenth century style of dress), so I sometimes wear it for special occasions like court.

Thank you. I, er, Pippin worked very hard on that speech. He was a pretty good sport about the whole thing. hehehe

I was thrilled that your story, "Hobbit Aid" got an award too. That one deserves all of the awards that it wins. It is so very emotional on so many levels.

Have a great time at "Gulf Wars"!

I thought he was a good sport, anyway. I'm so sorry he didn't get to keep his rat, though. Perhaps it's for the best. I can't imagine that his mother and sisters would have been very happy at his choice of pet.

I'm glad that "Hobbit Aid" got runner-up. I am still not sure of what to make of the story myself, but if it helps keep attention focussed on what's going on here, that is all for the best.

Had a great time in the "Dungeon" (Scribe's Point) yesterday. I hope the weather is cooperative today.
