Hullo everyone, and thanks to dreamflower02 for starting this community! What a great idea. :)

My name is Kel, and I've made several LotR costumes, which can be seen at the following links:

I've also made several LOTR teddy bears, including Frodo Bear and Merry Bear!

My current LOTR craft project is knitting up a pair of hobbit socks to use while in costume. They are coming along slowly, but surely!

Star Ceiling - Pretend you're sleeping under the stars with the Fellowship

I tried to take a photo of my bedroom star ceiling with my digital camera, and decided that a professional would need to do it. The stars just wouldn't show up on my little Kodak. Alternatively, I copied some photos off star ceiling sites on the Internet. This isn't my bedroom (unfortunately) but you can see what a star ceiling is.

I used to paint murals but switched to painting star ceilings about four years ago. It is hard, back-breaking work but so, so satisfying. The paint is a special glow-in-the dark paint which is very expensive. You 'charge' the ceiling using natural or artifical light, and the glow slowly fades, fading completely with the dawn. It is so relaxing and calming. The astonishing thing is it looks so real.

Gondor Shirt

This is a great idea for a LJ community, Dreamflower! I have a few photos I can share. Here's the first one. I first stitched the design on this shirt to wear it to "The Gathering of the Fellowship" convention in Toronto back in December 2003. No Gondorian tree patterns existed at the time, so I just blew up a photo of Pippin in uniform on my computer screen, taped a piece of cross-stitch graph paper to the screen and made a rough trace of the tree design. I fine-tuned it as I stitched. The stitching was done with a grey and silver blended thread.
